As you sit out and enjoy the campfire, you can see the stars with no light pollution. Depending on the time of year you can hear the owls calling to one another, hear the singing of the coyotes, the bugling of the elk, or listen to the turkey as they get ready to roost. Our cabins help you to enjoy the action packed days of your vacation even more by giving you a place to come and relax and enjoy nature at the end of your day.

These cabins are centrally located to everything the Black Hills has to offer! We are just 2 miles from Pactola lake, located along Highway 385, pavement the entire way with only a short gravel drive to the cabins.

Our cabins are modern and have tasteful finishes. Decorated in the genre of wildlife, Black Hills history and Native American traditions of the local area. We have used locally sourced materials in our building as well as highlighting local artists in our decor. Each master bed is covered with an authentic hand made native star quilt. Campfire Cabins has a laundry facility available for our guests.

       Campfire Cabins Is a wonderful place to stay! It is centrally located amongst all the sites and has a warm homey feel that we never would’ve found at a hotel. The whole family interacted with the friendly goats, cats and bunnies! We even got to bottle feed a calf! The cabin was the perfect size, extremely clean and had everything we needed (including farm fresh eggs)! The owners were very friendly and attentive!       From my first conversation with Sarah when I was inquiring about the cabins I knew this was the place we were going to stay.  It is amazing, the Cabins are so wonderful, they have everything you could need and more.  The atmosphere  is wonderful, it's quiet, relaxing  and the goats and rabbits are a riot to watch wandering or hopping around. Sarah and her family do an amazing job, the service is spectacular!  I've stayed in many 4 star hotels that don't provide the kind of service they do.  I would highly recommend a visit!  It's amazing.

      What a wonderful place to stay! We were entertained by the animals and the accommodations were inviting, fresh and clean. Check in and check out were smooth and easy. Sarah and Al were so down to earth and friendly to deal with. Campfire Cabins isn't commercialized like a lot places are becoming out west and that is what sets them apart.       Great hosts! This was our second time visiting and it was fantastic once again. Cabin was spotless and had everything you needed. Stocked bathroom with bug spray, shaving cream, etc. Stocked kitchen with plates, cups, silverware, dish soap, full size refrigerator/freezer, stove, microwave, coffee pot, condiments including ketchup, mustard, mayo, ranch, farm fresh eggs, and more. Ton of books and movies. Great play area with fire out. Kids got invited by hosts to go feed calves at their farm. Bunnies everywhere to chase around. My kids loved the loft and played games up there in the morning and nighttime. Great experience and great location. Top notch.

      Campfire Cabins was the perfect spot for our family reunion. We had 4 adults in our cabin, and were very comfortable. Two of us sleeping in the loft are over 6-feet tall, and we had to move around on our knees. We were only up there for sleep, so this didn't seem like much of a hardship. When we arrived, it was a treat to see fresh eggs in the refrigerator, as well as all the basic condiments. The table had a basket containing an assortment of snacks. We didn't have any children in our party, but we could see it would be a perfect place to stay for a family with kids. Kids from other cabins were having a wonderful time using the supplied giant nets - like large, sturdy butterfly nets - to try to capture half-wild, half-tame rabbits, the progeny of the family's pet that had escaped. Adults and kids enjoyed the other animals on the farm, including a wandering group of friendly goats and three cats. The hosts were very responsive to our requests for another blanket and new towels. Our group enjoyed sitting around a campfire on two evenings of our stay, grilling, looking at the beautiful night sky. Nights were very quiet. I highly recommend Campfire Cabins.

      Stayed here by chance last year on a trip to the Black Hills. Loved it so much I organized a family reunion to go back again this year! Everyone loved it as much as we did! The kids all had a blast and so did the adults! Sitting around the campfire each evening with family was a great way to end each day! Beautiful facilities and close to everything!       We stayed at Campfire Cabins for our son's college graduation from South Dakota Mines.  We are not from South Dakota and had a large group of friends and family attending from as far away as SC and MA to the East and AZ to the West with a majority driving in from CO.  We had about 20 people and rented the family cabin and several smaller cabins to accommodate everyone. The family cabin and all the small cabins are beautifully and modernly appointed and the most well-stocked cabins I have every stayed in.  It was more well-stocked than most VRBOs we have stayed in across the country.  They think of everything! Fresh fruit and eggs from their chickens are available...just anything you can think of is there for you.  Additionally, they have enough picnic and card tables to set up to seat as many people as you need.  We were able to set up card tables in the great room of the house together with the large dining table to feed 20 people when the weather was too cold to be outside.  There is also a large 2 car garage and parking pad at the family cabin that can be used for picnic tables.  Sarah and Al live on property with their menagerie of friendly farm animals and are available for anything you might need to make your stay better.  It is truly a home away from home and I would stay there again and again!

      Had a great stay here. Exceptionally clean and nice cabins. Sarah was great to deal with and checked on us throughout the trip and even brought us eggs from their chickens. I’m already planning to go back and will be staying at campfire. Highly recommend
